A competitive exhibition, annually held for the holiday of the Turkmen horse, which is celebrated on the last Sunday of April, was opened in the exhibition hall of the Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan. The exhibition features works by members of the Union of Artists, cultural figures, teachers and students of the Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan and the State Specialized Art School. More than three hundred exhibits, including paintings, tapestries, sculptures, bas-reliefs, graphics, ceramics, and jewelry, embody images of Akhal-Teke horses and their role in the life of the Turkmen people. The skill of artists is amazing. It seems a step closer to the picture - and the tramping of hooves, the screams of the riders and the whistling of the wind, not keeping pace with the fast-moving horses, will be discernible. And from the bas-relief to the viewer, breathe the freshness of steppe motley grass and the amazing atmosphere of peace: the foal plays with Alabai puppies. Akhal-Teke horses, famous for the whole world, were bred in the foothills of the Kopetdag more than 5000 years ago, and still are the standard of beauty and grace. Their fate is inextricably linked with the fate of the Turkmen people, for whom the horses were and are not just riding animals, but family members, loyal friends and helpers. "Faster than the wind in the steppe, it will not betray and not deceive", so people say about horses. The results of the competitive exhibition will be announced on the eve of the Turkmen Horse Festival during the celebrations.Maya AMANMURADOVA
