Russian operator-monopolist of main oil pipelines is interested in deliveries of "black gold" from Turkmenistan
“Transneft” hopes that in the last quarter of this year transit supplies of oil from Turkmenistan via the Russian Federation will resume, the vice president of the largest pipeline company on the planet “Transneft” S. Andronov said.
Note, that the information published on the Rambler News says that the transit of oil from Turkmenistan through the territory of Russia this year ceased.
Last year, it amounted to 466.7 thousand tons, and decreased by more than 36% compared to the preceeding year.
This year, oil from the eastern region of Turkmenistan is fully supplied via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan export oil pipeline.
According to S. Andronov mentioned above, "Transneft" was approached by "one of the oil producers with whom a contract of transportation was concluded in transit through the Russian Federation and shipment in the port of Novorossiysk." He told about it to the employee of the magazine "Pipeline transportation of oil".
However, the "oil producer" is not specified, it may be one of the foreign companies operating in Turkmenistan on the terms of the Production Sharing Agreement.
Anyway, the "black gold" itself remains Turkmen "by origin".
