There is a planet of Turkmenia between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter

On the International Day of Human Space Flight, ORIENT reminds readers of the existence of the planet of Turkmenia.
On March 23, 1979, the famous Soviet astronomer, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Nikolai Chernykh, discovered a minor planet 2584, named after Turkmenistan – the heart of the Central Asia.
The planet is a typical asteroid of the main belt of asteroids, located between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. Its diameter is 6-12 km. Distance of Turkmenia from the Sun is 2,319 astronomical units, from the Earth - 3,017 astronomical units. The asteroid moves in its orbit at an average speed of almost 20 km/s.
