Easter comes to Turkmenistan

On Sunday, April 8th, Orthodox Christians celebrate the main holiday of the year - the Day of the Bright Resurrection of Christ, celebrating life and rejecting death.
On the night from Saturday to Sunday, the Orthodox go to church, and on their return home they set a festive table and greet each other with the words "Christ has Risen!"
In Turkmenistan, Easter has long acquired the status of an inter-religious holiday. Children gladly distribute Easter cakes, painted eggs and sweet pastry to their neighbors of different nationalities and beliefs. And those, in turn, prepare in advance "return gifts" - sweets and pishme, which fill the plates, so as not to give them empty.
It is customary to spend this day with family, relatives and friends, rest or go on a visit. Easter is great for asking for forgiveness for the wrongs done and forgiving those who offended you. It is worth to reconcile with people with whom relationship is senselessly lost.
In Turkmenistan, organically uniting the cultures of the East and West, various religions and beliefs, the holiday of the Holy Easter is also a holiday of hospitality, good-neighborliness and cordiality, with which the country is famous.
