A coordination meeting of the countries-participants of the Asian Games-2018 held in Jakarta


A coordination meeting between the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia and the ambassadors of the countries participating in the 18th Asian Games of 2018 was held in Jakarta.
The meeting was attended by ambassadors from 19 countries, including Turkmenistan, the DPRK, the Republic of Korea, Bahrain, Jordan, Iran, Iraq, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan, as well as high-level officials of other countries.
During the meeting, the President of the Organizing Committee of the 18th Asian Games Mr. Eric Tohir held a general presentation of the competition. Then high-ranking officials visited the stadium, where the opening and closing ceremonies of the Games, as well as other sports complexes will take place.
The Asian Games of 2018 will be held from August 18th to September 2nd in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta and the city of Palembang in the province of South Sumatra, and will gather 10,000 athletes from 45 national Olympic committees. They will compete in 40 sports and 67 disciplines.
The final composition of the national team of Turkmenistan has not yet been formed. But Turkmen athletes, especially weightlifters and judokas, are preparing intensively for the forthcoming competitions in order to adequately represent the country at such significant competitions.
