There are more than a hundred of specialists presented their proposals, investigations and plans at the forum. The voice of the youth was louder than others. Representatives of the World Youth Parliament for Water (WYPW) – Natalia Chemayeva (Turkmenistan), Aminjon Abdulloyev (Tajikistan) and Mirsaid Uzakov (Uzbekistan) made a presentation “Mobilization of Youth in the Water Sector of Central Asia”. They presented the strategy of forming a common position of young people regarding transboundary cooperation, raising education and awareness of the population via modern technologies and continuous exchange of data with international organizations and promoting respect for natural resources. “We, the Youth of Central Asia, want to live in a world where water has no borders and where young people can speak and participate in decision-making processes regarding water-related issues. We want to serve with appropriate conditions and respect for everyone within a framework of trust and transparency. We are convinced that water issues can be solved in such a world,” said in the “Vision”, a document developed by WYPW at the Central Asia Youth Workshop for Water, held 16th-20th June, 2017, in Astana, Kazakhstan. The World Youth Parliament for Water is a network of young people acting for water in more than 80 countries with a mission to advocate for youth participation in the water sector and to implement concrete actions for water. The main activities of the WYPW are aimed at building the capacity of the younger generation on water related and environment-friendly issues and at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. For this, within the framework of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the International Secretariat for Water (ISW), WYPW has developed a number of projects aimed to develop dialogue between the countries of the Central Asian region.Maya AMANMURADOVA
