A concert in memory of Nury Halmamedov took place in Moscow

A concert in honor of the 80th anniversary of the outstanding Turkmen composer Nura Khalmamedov was held at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory. As reported by Rossiyskaya Gazeta, the event was held on March 29th with the support of the Turkmen National Conservatory, as well as the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Russia. The concert was the starting point for a cycle of cultural events in Ashgabat and Moscow in the year of the 80th anniversary of Nury Halmamedov. During the jubilee concert, People's Artist of Turkmenistan, vocalist Atageldy Garyagdyev, Honored Artist of Turkmenistan pianist Vladimir Mkrtumov, chief conductor of the State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan Rasul Gylidzhov came to the stage of the Rachmaninov Hall of the Moscow State Conservatory. The concert was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps of Turkmenistan in Russia, the Turkmen diaspora, Turkmen students studying in Moscow universities. The hall was full of attention, and the musicians played two hours of wonderful music for the listeners. Since 2015, the Russian Academy of Arts hosts the international music festival "Sounds of Dutar" named after Nury Halmamedov, aimed at maintaining and strengthening ties between European academic and ethnic music. On April 7th, on the eve of Orthodox Easter, a large concert will be held at the Museum and Exhibition Complex of the Russian Academy of Arts (Moscow), including works by Turkmen composers Nury Halmamedov and Mammad Huseynov.
