Ashgabat hosts Turkmen-Iranian high-level talks

Today, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Rouhani arrived in Ashgabat on an official visit, the TDH reports. In the first half of the day, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov greeted his Iranian colleague at the Square of Independence. After the official welcoming ceremony, the leaders of the two countries headed to the Palace of Ruhyet. Here Turkmen-Iranian talks in a narrow format held. It is noteworthy that the meeting takes place not in the residence, but in the palace, the name of which translates as “spirituality” and is consonant with the name of the leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, due to which the negotiations acquire a special symbolism.
