More than 3 million voters voted in the elections in Turkmenistan on March 25


3 million 17 thousand 801 voters cast their votes in the elections of the Mejlis deputies, members of the Halk Maslahaty and the Gengesh on Sunday, March 25, told journalists G. Muradov, the Chairman of the Central Election Committee of Turkmenistan at a press conference on Monday, March 26.
There are 3 million 291 thousand 312 people in total were registered in 2 thousand 604 polling stations. Thus, 91.69 percent of the electorate participated in the voting.
As Muradov emphasized, it was achieved due to the thoughtful preparation for the elections and the active canvassing campaign of candidates.
Personal invitations to elections were sent to each voter at home. Information reports about a single voting day were published in the mass media. The candidates held about a thousand meetings with voters.
Volunteers from polling stations came to the elderly and people with disabilities on the Election Day, giving the opportunity to vote directly from home.
