Turkmen farmers to expand production of medicinal chal
Camel chal is one of the most popular Turkmen drinks. Possessing an impressive list of medicinal properties, it proved itself well in folk medicine and simply as a tasty and original tonic.
Recently, it even received attention at the highest level - President Berdimuhamedov at a meeting with the heads of regions on the agricultural sector with the participation of the Minister of Health and Medical Industry N.Amannepesov, expressed his vision for camel-breeding farms, enterprises for the production of chal and its use as preventive remedy.
The Turkmen leader emphasized that chal is rich in vitamins and trace elements, such as vitamins C and D, which in this drink are three times higher in content than in cow's milk, making it useful in the prevention of many diseases.
In this regard, the head of state indicated the expediency of supplying medical institutions with this healing drink.
Thus, chal diversifies the diet of patients in the country's clinics, and will enter the daily menu in the sanatoriums and other institutions involved in medical and preventive activities.
In addition, foreign investors and sellers have long and persistently expressed interest in the Turkmen camel's milk. This is due to the growing propensity of consumers for environmentally friendly products of natural origin, due to which today the products of the Turkmen agribusiness, approved by foreign laboratory expertise for quality and safety, confidently conquer foreign markets. However, with chal it is a little more difficult, in view of the fact that its production is almost exclusive, and the product is perishable. The deal is that it comes on sale at the peak of maturation, and unrealized stocks are utilized. Sellers themselves "with passion" control the shelf life of all food, without waiting for a sudden-regular inspection of supervisory services, otherwise they face a sensitive fine.
Therefore, a number of issues to optimize production and supply chain of such a valuable product to foreign consumers still need to be resolved with regard to the export of products from curative camel milk.
