Turkmen Film "The Composer" to Be Screened in Abkhazia

Turkmen cinema continues to make its mark on the international stage. The film "The Composer," produced by the Oguzhan "Turkmenfilm" studio, has been included in the exclusive screening program of the "Diamond Butterfly" Open Eurasian Film Awards, taking place from November 2 to 6 in Sukhumi, the capital of Abkhazia. The project is supported by the Ministry of Culture and the Russian Cultural Foundation, with the R. Gumba Abkhazian State Philharmonic serving as the screening venue.
For the general public, this is an opportunity to experience a work that has already earned high praise from a professional jury. Notably, at the "Diamond Butterfly" awards ceremony held in Moscow in November 2025, the film received a prestigious honor in the "Best Production Designer" category (awarded to Meilis Khudaiberenov). Experts were particularly impressed by the film’s visual aesthetics, its meticulous attention to historical detail, and its successful recreation of the atmosphere of the era.
In the Sukhumi screening program, the Turkmen film is featured alongside notable cinematic works from other countries, including the Russian melodrama "Two in One Life, Not Counting the Dog," the Belarusian-Russian historical project "The Black Castle," the South African drama "Old Righteous Blues," and the Kyrgyz film "Dance with Mom!"
