Minister of Education of Turkmenistan Visits Urgench State University

As part of a working visit to Uzbekistan, the Minister of Education of Turkmenistan, Jumamyrat Gurbangeldiyev, visited Urgench State University and met with the university’s rector, Feruza Madrakhimova. The discussions, held in an atmosphere of trust and pragmatism, focused on deepening inter-university cooperation and academic mobility within the framework of the strategic partnership between the two neighboring states.
Practical cooperation between higher education institutions in Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan has gained steady momentum in recent years. Urgench State University reaffirmed its readiness to expand training programs for Turkmen students, develop a supportive infrastructure for their studies, and intensify joint research projects with faculty members from Turkmen universities. A significant aspect of this dialogue remains the ongoing participation of Uzbek students in international subject-specific Olympiads and scientific forums regularly hosted in Turkmenistan.

The two sides advocated for the systematization of academic exchanges, the conduct of joint fundamental research, and the expansion of opportunities for scholars and young people from both nations to participate in each other’s educational initiatives.
