Turkmen Weightlifters to Compete for 2028 Olympic Spots at World Championships in China
The Turkmenistan national weightlifting team is heading to China to participate in the World Championships, which will take place from October 27 to November 8 in the city of Ningbo. This tournament marks a key event of the season, as it serves as the start of the official qualification process for the 2028 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
The Turkmen delegation includes 11 athletes and 3 experienced coaches. Competing against the world’s strongest weightlifters, the Turkmen team will aim not only for medals at the world championships but also to secure their first qualification points toward earning Olympic spots.
The upcoming competition in Ningbo will be the national team’s primary test of the year, evaluating their physical condition, technique, and overall team preparation on the path toward their Olympic goal.
