IOGU Extends Cooperation with Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS

The Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University (IOGU), PETRONAS Carigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn Bhd, and Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS in Malaysia have extended their partnership for another five years by signing a new Memorandum of Understanding. This document creates new opportunities for academic exchange and the deepening of scientific and educational ties, as reported on the official website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.
Under the agreement, students and young faculty members from the Turkmen university regularly undertake industrial internships in Malaysia and participate in professional development programs. For instance, from October 19 to 22, a professor from the Malaysian university is conducting an online course titled "Energy Systems Analysis" for students and instructors from the Faculty of Energy and Engineering Structures. Participants are introduced to advanced, innovative technologies and receive official certificates upon completion of the course.
The collaboration also includes a series of in-person and remote lectures delivered by prominent international professors throughout the 2026–2027 academic year. The sessions will cover key areas such as the oil and gas industry, the implementation of artificial intelligence, the chemical sector, and the advanced processing of raw materials.
Expanding this partnership with a global technology leader enables Turkmen students to acquire up-to-date knowledge, master modern professional practices, and strengthen international professional dialogue.
