Embassy of Turkmenistan in Vienna Hosts Gala Reception

The historic Wiener Rathauskeller in the heart of Vienna served as the venue for a gala reception marking the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence. Held on October 21, the celebratory event brought together members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Austria, representatives from the business community, the Austrian public, and members of the Turkmen diaspora.

Guests were welcomed by Hemra Amannazarov, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Austria and Permanent Representative to international organizations in Vienna. During the formal portion of the event, the Ambassador highlighted the profound historical significance of the country’s independent path of development, as well as its steadfast commitment to the principles of positive neutrality and international cooperation.

Distinguished guests were in attendance to offer their congratulations: Maximilian Hennig, Chief of Protocol at the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs, underscored the high level of bilateral partnership and conveyed best wishes on behalf of the country’s foreign minister. Meanwhile, Neda Berger, President of the Austrian-Turkmen Society, spoke about the organization’s long-standing efforts to bring the two nations closer together, strengthen cultural ties, and foster humanitarian dialogue.

The formal proceedings gave way to an informal, warm atmosphere, where guests had the opportunity to discuss potential joint projects and sample exquisite dishes from traditional Turkmen cuisine. This vibrant and well-attended reception in Vienna served as further confirmation of the strong, friendly relations between Turkmenistan and the nations of Europe.
