On the evening of November 22, the capital’s "Vatan" Cinema and Concert Hall will transform into a hub of French musical culture. The "Melodiya" Orchestra, under the direction of international competition laureate Annaoraz Dovletov, will present a new program titled "Paris — My Love" (Paris mon amour).

This event promises to be a true treat for those who appreciate European charm, live performance, and timeless melodies—songs that have captivated the hearts of millions around the world for decades. The program is woven entirely from iconic French popular music, classic chanson, and contemporary hits, creating a shared cultural space that bridges different generations of listeners and performers.

French song has always held a special place in global culture, distinguished by its profound dramatic intensity, sincerity, and exquisite melodic quality. The musicians of the "Melodiya" Orchestra have invested significant effort into curating a rich musical retrospective. The audience will embark on a journey through time—from the golden age of classic chanson to the latest tracks currently featured on European radio stations. Each piece in the program unfolds as a distinct story with its own dramatic arc, interweaving themes of love, sorrow, joy, and hope.

The program places special emphasis on the great classics—works without which it is impossible to imagine France itself. The stage will resonate with the poignant ballads of Édith Piaf, brimming with authentic passion and vitality. Her songs have long served as a symbol of Paris, and these orchestral arrangements will allow the audience to experience the full depth of these immortal pieces in a fresh, new way. Alongside them, the audience will hear the elegant compositions of Charles Aznavour—works rich in profound poetic meaning, created by an artist who left an indelible mark on the history of global popular music. His refined melodies continue to touch the hearts of listeners today with their sincerity and nobility.

The era of romanticism will be represented by the legendary songs of Joe Dassin. His light, velvety tracks—guaranteed to bring a smile to one’s face—instantly transport the listener to an atmosphere of carefree youth and a Parisian summer. Providing a counterpoint to this lightness is the incredibly sensual and powerful repertoire of Lara Fabian, whose dramatic vocal pieces demand the highest level of technical mastery from the musicians. The evening will also feature expressive, iconic numbers from the repertoire of Garou—an artist renowned for his unique vocal timbre and his roles in the landmark musicals that have captivated audiences worldwide.

The concert organizers have also embraced the contemporary French music scene, ensuring the program resonates with a diverse audience. The concert will feature the sophisticated pop compositions of Indila—blending traditional French flair with modern rhythms—as well as the vibrant neo-chanson of Barbara Pravi. Pravi’s expressive performance style and profound lyrics have reignited global interest in the French language within international competitions, proving that the traditions of French popular music remain alive and continue to flourish in the 21st century.

The Melodia Orchestra has long established itself as a highly professional and dynamic ensemble, capable of performing with virtuosity across a wide range of musical genres. Under the direction of Annaoraz Dovletov, the orchestra demonstrates flawless cohesion, meticulous precision, and immense emotional intensity. Unique orchestral arrangements have been crafted specifically for this event; while preserving the spirit of the original works, they imbue the music with a new, profound, and expansive sound—a quality achievable only through a large instrumental ensemble.

Beyond the music itself, the concert serves an important aesthetic purpose. The primary goal of the program, "Paris — My Love," is to offer the audience a fully immersive experience of the French capital. The musical magic of the orchestra will transport guests to the picturesque streets of Montmartre, evoke the subtle aroma of freshly baked croissants in quaint sidewalk cafés, and capture that light, inspiring atmosphere that draws people from all over the world to the banks of the Seine. This concert offers a wonderful opportunity to spend an autumn evening with loved ones, immersed in the world of refined popular music.
