International Forum "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan – 2026" Underway in Ashgabat

The international exhibition "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan – 2026" has opened at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. This large-scale event—organized by the state concerns "Turkmengaz" (Turkmen Gas) and "Turkmennebit" (Turkmen Oil) in collaboration with the country’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry—has brought together over 1,700 delegates from 75 countries, representing more than 130 leading global energy companies, relevant government ministries, and financial institutions.

The forum’s exhibition showcased the technological capabilities of Turkmenistan’s fuel and energy sector, ranging from digital platforms for geological exploration and deep-well drilling—both onshore and on the Caspian shelf—to eco-innovations and the integration of artificial intelligence. Participants showed particular interest in displays dedicated to the development of the massive Galkynysh gas field, the expansion of gas-chemical complexes producing polymers and mineral fertilizers, and the strengthening of partnerships with long-standing strategic allies. Notably, the event highlighted the outcomes of long-term cooperation with China’s CNPC and Malaysia’s Petronas.
The plenary sessions and panel discussions at the specialized conference covered key topics such as global energy security, the diversification of supply routes (including the strategic TAPI project), attracting investment for the development of offshore blocks, and the transition to a low-carbon economy. The program for the subsequent days of the conference focuses on issues related to natural gas monetization, the reduction of methane emissions, the digitalization of the industry, and the training of a new generation of highly qualified professionals.
