Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Arrives in Turkmenistan for a Working Visit

Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, has arrived in Turkmenistan for a working visit. At Ashgabat International Airport, the distinguished guest was warmly welcomed by Oguljahan Atabayeva, Vice-President for Medical Affairs of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care. During a brief conversation at the airport, both sides emphasized that the upcoming events would further strengthen the bonds between the two friendly and fraternal nations.
A key highlight of the visit was a trip to the headquarters of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation in the city of Arkadag, where Oguljahan Atabayeva and Leyla Aliyeva held a bilateral meeting. The discussions focused on developing humanitarian ties and expanding cooperation in areas such as healthcare for the younger generation, inclusive education, and social support for families.
Oguljahan Atabayeva noted the particular significance of the international environmental exhibition "Mother Nature," currently being held in Ashgabat; the exhibition is organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation with the support of the Turkmen side. Previously, the exhibition has been successfully presented in Baku, Manama, London, Geneva, and Madrid, encouraging individuals to reflect on their personal contribution to environmental protection.
In turn, Leyla Aliyeva expressed her gratitude to the leadership of Turkmenistan for the high level of organization of the visit, emphasizing that the relations between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan—rooted in a shared history, culture, and spiritual values—serve as an exemplary model of a strategic partnership.
The visit’s itinerary included a tour of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Center, where Leyla Aliyeva observed the facilities provided for the treatment and recovery of children, which utilize advanced medical technologies. She spent time interacting with the young patients and spoke highly of the comprehensive care provided by the center.
The eventful day concluded with a vibrant cultural program: the guests attended a performance by the "Galkynyş" National Equestrian Games Group at the Gorogly State Equestrian Circus in the city of Arkadag, as well as a concert by the State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan at the Magtymguly National Music and Drama Theater in Ashgabat, which featured works by both Turkmen and Azerbaijani composers.
