Kazakh TV Channels will Begin Broadcasting in Turkmenistan

Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan intend to strengthen cooperation in the field of mass media. To this end, the two sides have agreed to establish a permanent joint media council. One of the first practical outcomes of this cooperation will be the launch of Kazakhstan’s international television channels Silk Way and Silk Way Cinema in Turkmenistan. This was reported by the Ratel Media International News Agency.
The agreement was signed on October 8, 2026, in the Avaza National Tourist Zone. The document was signed by representatives of the Television and Radio Complex of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography.
The new media council will be the first permanent mechanism of this kind between the two countries. It is intended to expand professional contacts between state television and radio companies and create additional opportunities for exchanging information and media content.
The international television channel Silk Way introduces foreign audiences to events in Kazakhstan, Central Asia, and other regions of the world. Silk Way Cinema, in turn, specializes in broadcasting cinematic works.
Both channels are part of the Television and Radio Complex of the President of Kazakhstan. The complex also includes the national television channel Jibek Joly, a radio station of the same name, the international channel Silk Way Prime, the Kazinform news agency, the Documentary Film Centre, and the digital division TRKLAB.
