Qatar says regional negotiations remain ongoing
Qatar said negotiations and exchanges of messages among parties to the regional conflict are continuing through Doha and its regional partners.
Ibrahim bin Sultan Al-Hashmi, director of the Media and Communications Department at Qatar's Foreign Ministry, said details of the diplomatic exchanges could not be disclosed, but confirmed that talks remain under way.
He said the scale of the conflict and its wider consequences require continued efforts to reach a negotiated solution. Al-Hashmi added that the concerns of the various parties are being taken into account during the talks.
On the same day, Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met visiting Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni in Doha. They discussed the latest regional developments and efforts to reduce tensions.
The conflict between the United States and Iran has continued for more than seven months, with no major breakthrough in sight.
According to CCTV+, Qatar continues diplomatic contacts with the parties and regional partners, seeking to support de-escalation and a negotiated settlement.
