Floodwaters recede in Bangkok, but thousands of residents remain stranded. In low-lying areas of the capital, disruptions to electricity, clean water and essential services continue, while some neighborhoods remain accessible only by boat.

Severe flooding between September 16 and 28 affected 42 Thai provinces, around 1.8 million people and left at least eight dead. Authorities say 28 provinces are still dealing with the effects of the disaster.

In Bangkok's eastern Lat Krabang district, streets remain deeply submerged. With roads cut off, boats have become a key means of delivering food, drinking water and medicine, as well as evacuating residents.

Elderly people, families with children and people with disabilities are among those facing the greatest difficulties. Temporary shelters have been opened across the capital, while many evacuees report major damage to their homes and belongings.

According to CCTV+, although floodwaters are gradually receding, restoring roads, electricity and access to residential areas remains essential for residents to return to normal life.
