Huawei unveils its first desktop PC based on its own HarmonyOS operating system
Huawei has unveiled its first desktop computer, the HM650, running on the company’s proprietary HarmonyOS operating system. The new device was presented at the Huawei Connect 2026 technology conference. The model was specifically designed for the corporate sector and office use, with its official release scheduled for September.
The key feature of the HM650 is its use of the HarmonyOS V1.0 operating system. The computer has successfully passed second-level security and reliability certification, making it a secure solution for processing confidential information. The system comes with a wide range of artificial intelligence tools: its algorithms help generate content, quickly find the necessary information, and analyze data. Corporate materials are protected by large language models and advanced system-security mechanisms.
For the convenience of IT departments and businesses, the PC features a digital workspace separation function. When connected to a network, the devices can automatically download the required applications and security settings, simplifying the administration of the entire office infrastructure.
The PC ecosystem is developing at a rapid pace. At present, the HarmonyOS catalog contains more than 50,000 applications, including over 19,000 developed specifically for the operating system, while also supporting more than 3,300 digital services. The launch of the new computer marks an important step for Huawei in its transition toward fully independent software and hardware solutions.
