Media is a bridge between cultures, and in the era of digital transformation this bridge is becoming ever stronger. When journalists, content creators and experts gather together to discuss the future of the industry, new ideas and mutual understanding are born that go far beyond news headlines.

On Thursday, the Arab Media Summit 2026 concluded in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), where China Media Group (CMG) set up its stand to strengthen ties with Arab media. The three-day event brought together 250 media organisations from 23 countries, attracting senior government officials, heads of media organisations, prominent figures and content creators.

Focusing on media transformation and the creative economy, the event featured more than 170 sessions dedicated to content production, global narratives and the impact of artificial intelligence on journalism. Within eight specialised forums, participants explored how Arab media can enhance their competitiveness by combining ideas, experience and practices, as well as promoting new opportunities for cooperation.

CMG again took part in the summit as the only invited Chinese media organisation and created an exclusive interview zone where its journalists held discussions and exchanged views with other participants. Mohammed Al Hammadi, chairman of the UAE Journalists Association, stressed China's growing influence in the Arab region and said the event provided Arab media with an opportunity to learn more about China.

"Today, China's influence in the Arab region continues to grow. The participation of China Media Group in the Arab Media Summit is essentially an engagement with Arab media. We need to communicate and understand our audience. Through such exchange and interaction, the Arab world, in turn, will begin to understand China," he said.

The annual Arab Media Summit is considered the largest media event in the region. Over the years, the summit has evolved into a high-level strategic platform for political leaders, media figures, opinion leaders, heads of government, ministers, editors-in-chief, industry professionals, content creators, technology experts and scholars from around the world, where they explore the transformations shaping the media industry.

As reported by CCTV+, CMG's participation in the Arab Media Summit 2026 marked an important step in strengthening media cooperation between China and the Arab region. The exchange of experience and joint discussions on the future of journalism open new opportunities for mutual understanding and joint development.
