French Institute in Turkmenistan Invites the Public to an Open Day
On September 5, the French Institute in Turkmenistan will host an Open Day. From 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., residents and visitors of Ashgabat will be offered a rich programme ranging from demonstration language lessons to cultural performances and theatrical productions.
Guests will have an opportunity to learn more about language courses, conversation clubs with native speakers, the requirements for the international DELF/DALF examinations, and the facilities and opportunities offered by the media library. The organizers invite visitors to come with friends and loved ones and share the experience of discovering a new culture together.
One of the main highlights of the evening will be the opening of the photo exhibition “Journey Through the Turkmen Lands” by French photographer Paul Nadar. The exhibition features unique historical photographs taken by the photographer during his journey through Turkmenistan in 1890.
Programme of events:
• 3:00 – 3:45 p.m. – Presentation of the Institute, courses, workshops and clubs.
• 3:45 – 4:15 p.m. – Ceremonial presentation of DELF/DALF diplomas.
• 4:15 – 4:45 p.m. – Open demonstration lessons for children, teenagers and adults.
• 4:30 – 5:15 p.m. – Learning French through games on PlayStation.
• 5:00 – 5:30 p.m. – Musical interlude featuring piano compositions.
• 5:30 – 6:00 p.m. – A theatrical performance of Molière’s “The Doctor in Spite of Himself”, performed by students of the Institute.
• 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. – Interactive evening and French-song karaoke.
Admission to the event is free for everyone.
