The first meeting of the working group on cooperation in education and science was held in Ashgabat, chaired by Azat Atayev, Deputy Minister of Education of Turkmenistan, and Zviad Gabisonia, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia. This institutional body has become a direct mechanism for implementing the agreements previously reached during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Batyr Mammedov and Givi Mikanadze, head of the Georgian Ministry of Education.

The dynamic dialogue, developing in the context of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov's official visit to Tbilisi in July, aims to systematize partnerships, regularly exchange best pedagogical practices, and develop long-term academic projects.

The bilateral agenda continues to focus on initiatives to organize a specialized exhibition of Georgian universities in Turkmenistan, expand educational quotas for Turkmen students, and thoroughly explore the prospect of opening a branch of one of Georgia's leading higher education institutions in Ashgabat.

Along with the launch of the bilateral group's work, the Georgian delegation, led by Zviad Gabisonia, visited the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University, where they held substantive talks with faculty members. This flagship university of Turkmen engineering and technical education demonstrated its readiness to transform academic exchange into joint research programs and practical internships for young scientists. During the meeting, the parties discussed in detail the expansion of direct contacts between specialized departments and the implementation of memoranda linking the two countries' higher education institutions.
