Innovations in Education: IUHD Delegation Explores Kent State University Experience
From August 17 to 27, 2026, a delegation from the International University for the Humanities and Development (IUHD) is paying an official visit to Kent State University (Ohio, USA). The visit is aimed at deepening academic partnership, fostering large-scale exchange of best practices, and expanding the international ties of the Turkmen university.
The programme covers key areas of modern higher education. Turkmen specialists are focusing on the implementation of dual-degree programmes, internationalization of curricula, modern teaching methods, and best practices in educational process management.
Special emphasis is placed on institutional quality assurance and international accreditation. During specialized workshops, IUHD representatives are examining U.S. standards including HLC, ABET, and AACSB, learning outcome assessment criteria, and faculty development initiatives. This effort will culminate in a practical roadmap for enhancing academic programmes and quality procedures at IUHD.
As part of the exchange, the Turkmen delegation studied the operations of international student admissions, graduate services, and MBA programs, alongside support services for international students. IUHD representatives visited the university library to explore the capabilities of inter-university research networks such as OhioLINK and ILLiad, as well as academic tutoring centers.
The tour of the campus infrastructure included visits to the Honors College, the Design Innovation Hub (DI Hub), student housing, and the multifunctional Student Center. The programme also featured a meeting with representatives of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the USA and cultural outreach events.
The visit to Kent State University marks another practical step toward modernizing the national higher education system, implementing innovative standards, and building long-term international dialogue.
