The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Tokyo Met with the Special Representative of the Japanese Foreign Ministry for Central Asia


On August 19, a working meeting was held between Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan, Atadurdy Bayramov, and newly appointed Special Representative of the Japanese Foreign Ministry for Central Asia and the Caucasus, Tomoaki Ishigaka. The main topics of the talks were the dynamics of the bilateral partnership and preparations for upcoming high-level contacts.
The diplomats noted the rapid development of friendly ties, noting the significance of the two visits of the President of Turkmenistan to Japan in 2025. These contacts have given a powerful impetus to the entire range of Turkmen-Japanese cooperation.
During the exchange of views, the parties examined in detail key areas for the development of political, diplomatic, trade, economic, and cultural relations. Particular emphasis was placed on organizational issues for holding the next meeting of the Turkmen-Japanese and Japanese-Turkmen Committees on Economic Cooperation, which is scheduled for December 2026 in Tokyo.
