On August 24, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany, Petra Dachtler. The head of the diplomatic mission presented her credentials to the head of state, conveying greetings from Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz. The parties reaffirmed their shared commitment to consistently deepening interstate ties based on principles of mutual respect, trust, and constructive consideration of each other's interests.

During the talks, particular emphasis was placed on developing multilateral cooperation in the "Central Asia-Germany" format, which has proven itself to be an effective regional mechanism. This dialogue format opens up broad opportunities for the joint implementation of projects in the areas of transport connectivity, economic integration, and climate adaptation. On the global agenda, both countries continue to provide mutual support for international initiatives at the UN, focusing on sustainable development, combating climate change, and the rational use of natural resources.

The practical foundation of Turkmen-German cooperation encompasses a number of systemic areas, including trade and economic ties under the auspices of a specialized working group and the Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations (CEE). A separate, exemplary vector of long-standing cooperation remains the partnership in healthcare, where Turkmen medical professionals regularly exchange experiences with leading German specialists to implement advanced European medical practices. Furthermore, an active cultural and humanitarian dialogue continues, with priority given to joint programs in education and training of qualified personnel.
