Dance of a Young Turkmen Artist Enriches International Children’s Cultural Forum in Moscow

On August 20, the gala concert “Friendship” was held in Moscow, becoming the central event of the 5th International Children’s Cultural Forum. The concert featured Ayshat Rejepova, a student of the Special Music Boarding School at the Maya Kulieva Turkmen National Conservatory.
The forum is held annually and serves as a unique platform for creatively gifted children to communicate and meet leading teachers, performers and public figures. Participants showcase their talents, exchange experience and share ideas on the development of culture. This year, children from Russia and other countries are taking part in the event.

The young artist from Turkmenistan made a special impression on the concert participants with her talented performance of the dance “My Dutar,” set to music by the outstanding Turkmen composer Nury Halmamedov.
Having absorbed the rich culture of his people, the composer created music deeply connected with national traditions. The works of Nury Halmamedov form part of Turkmenistan’s unique cultural heritage and continue to be performed far beyond his homeland.

Turkmen dance is an ancient art that emerged from humanity’s eternal aspiration to comprehend the mysteries of existence and achieve harmony with the surrounding world. The dance, combining national color, the distinctive sound of traditional musical instruments and modern rhythms, was received by the audience with great enthusiasm.
