From August 17 to 22, a delegation from the International University for Humanities and Development (IUHD) is on a study visit to Helsinki as part of the European Union's regional project "Connectivity in Central Asia" (C4CA). The main goal of the international program is to exchange experiences, develop professional competencies, and strengthen cooperation in the fields of digital transformation, communications technology and infrastructure.

The project is being implemented at Laurea University of Applied Sciences in collaboration with the Finnish Institute of Public Administration. IUHD's participation continues the ongoing partnership with its Finnish colleagues, formalized by a Memorandum of Understanding signed in June 2026.

During the visit, Vice-Rector of the University for Humanities and Development, Nurmuhammet Shikhliev, held talks with the initiative's leaders, discussing the launch of joint research and educational programs, academic exchanges, and the creation of innovative dialogue platforms. A key outcome of the talks was an agreement to localize some of the C4CA project's activities directly at the University for Humanities and Development. This decision will integrate European digital methodologies into the educational process of the Turkmen university, engage students and faculty in EU research projects, and enable the development of new ICT solutions.

The delegates thoroughly studied the infrastructure of Finland, a global leader in e-governance and the integration of digital technologies into higher education and public administration. The C4CA project creates a sustainable bridge between Central Asian universities and their European partners. For Turkmenistan, participation in this program not only strengthens the authority of the country's academic institutions but also makes a practical contribution to the implementation of state strategies for the digitalization of education and the training of highly qualified specialists.
