The 5th International Youth Environmental Congress Was Held in Shahrisabz


The 5th International Environmental Congress, titled “Youth — Builders of the Future,” was held in the Shahrisabz district of Kashkadarya Region. The large-scale forum brought together nearly 1,000 young environmental activists from Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Russia, and Belarus, reports Yuz.uz.
The main goal of the event was to engage young people in environmental protection and unite their efforts in finding solutions to ecological challenges.

Representatives of Uzbekistan’s National Committee for Ecology and the regional leadership spoke at the opening ceremony. Participants received a message of greetings from Aziz Abduhakimov, Adviser to the President of Uzbekistan, which emphasized the key role of active young people in protecting nature. As part of the opening ceremony, official certificates of trust were also presented to the heads of regional councils of the Young Ecologists movement.
The congress featured a rich and practical program. Young environmentalists took part in the launch of specialized projects, environmental clean-up campaigns, presentations, and meetings with experts. International competitions, including “Best Environmental Project,” “Eco-Zakovat,” and KVN, were also held at the forum. The congress provided an excellent platform for exchanging experience and implementing promising ideas in the field of environmental protection.
