Turkmenistan Launches Online Registration for Foreign Citizens: Where to Find the Service
Turkmenistan has taken another important step in developing its national ecosystem of digital government services: the country's State Migration Service has transitioned the registration process for foreign citizens and stateless persons to an electronic format.
The new service allows for registration at the place of stay, extension of stay in the country, and deregistration entirely remotely. The service can be used by both foreign visitors and their hosts—individuals, hotels, inviting companies, and educational institutions.
The launch of the system marks the practical implementation of the updated provisions of Turkmenistan's Law "On Migration." Transitioning procedures to an electronic environment eliminates the need for in-person visits to agency offices, minimizes document processing time, and ensures transparent electronic document flow.
