The First Political Consultations Between Turkmenistan and Thailand Will Take Place in 2027


Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Thailand will hold the first-ever inter-ministerial political consultations in the history of bilateral relations in 2027. This meeting is timed to the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
An agreement to advance political and diplomatic cooperation to a new level was reached in Bangkok during talks between Ambassador of Turkmenistan Mukhammetnyaz Mashalov and Director-General of the Department of South Asian, Middle Eastern, and African Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand Urasa Mongkolnavin.

In preparation for the anniversary, diplomats from the two countries agreed on a set of measures to intensify high-level contacts. Priority areas of partnership include trade, investment, energy, transport and logistics, education, and tourism. Furthermore, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to strong coordination of efforts and mutual support for initiatives at the UN and other major international organizations.
