Uzbekistan Ranked Among the Safest Countries for Tourism
Uzbekistan has reaffirmed its status as one of the world's safest and most attractive destinations for travelers. In the Global Terrorism Index 2026, compiled by the Institute for Economics and Peace, the country ranked 96th, placing it among nations with a high level of public stability, according to Yuz.uz.
A high level of security remains one of the key drivers of the region's tourism industry. International visitors are attracted not only by the rich heritage of the Great Silk Road cities of Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva, but also by the country's strong safety record. Uzbekistan operates an effective security system, with round-the-clock protection provided at airports, railway stations, metro facilities, central streets, and all major tourist attractions.
Other Central Asian countries, including Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan, also demonstrate high levels of public stability. The favorable security environment across the region creates new opportunities for developing cross-border travel routes and strengthening Central Asia's reputation as a comfortable destination for international tourism and business.
