Google prepares to launch Pixel Tag, a competitor to Apple AirTag
Google is developing its own Bluetooth tracker, Pixel Tag, designed to help users locate lost belongings. The new device is expected to compete directly with Apple's AirTag while expanding the company's smart device ecosystem.
The tracker features an elongated oval design, and users will need dedicated keychain-style cases to attach it to their belongings. Its key features include:
• Integration with Google Find Hub for convenient location tracking via a smartphone;
• A built-in loud speaker for quickly finding nearby items;
• Privacy protection with built-in safeguards against unauthorized tracking.
The official unveiling of the device is scheduled for August 12. Google is expected to reveal all remaining details during the event, including the type of battery used and whether it supports Ultra Wideband (UWB) precision finding technology.
