Microsoft raises Xbox console prices and introduces new ways to save

Microsoft has announced a global price increase for its Xbox gaming consoles, effective August 1, 2026. The price of 512 GB models has increased by $100, while 1 TB versions are now $150 more expensive. In addition, the company has decided to discontinue production of 2 TB Xbox consoles.
The main reason for the price hike is the sharp increase in component costs. Prices for RAM and storage devices have risen by more than 2.5 times, and analysts expect costs to continue climbing.
To help offset the impact of the higher prices and make Xbox consoles more affordable, Microsoft has introduced several customer-friendly options:
• Interest-free installment plans: Customers can pay in installments at official Microsoft stores or receive up to 12 months of interest-free financing through partner financial institutions.
• Affordable alternatives: Buyers can purchase pre-owned or officially refurbished Xbox consoles with discounts of up to $100 off the standard retail price.
The company has also announced an additional benefit for gamers who use multiple platforms. Under a new partnership with Ubisoft, players who purchase selected Xbox games will be able to receive their PC versions for free through Ubisoft Connect.
