Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Head of the EBRD Outlined Long-Term Partnership Priorities


On July 28, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Odile Renaud-Basso, the Head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), who was visiting Ashgabat.
The Head of the EBRD praised the large-scale reforms aimed at diversifying the Turkmen economy and confirmed the bank's readiness to expand bilateral dialogue. In turn, the head of state expressed confidence that meetings during the current visit will provide impetus for the practical implementation of joint projects.
During the talks, the parties focused on key areas of cooperation aimed at long-term sustainable development. In the transport and logistics sector, Serdar Berdimuhamedov highlighted Turkmenistan's potential as a hub on the international North-South and East-West routes. Equally important were the integration of green energy, the introduction of environmentally friendly technologies, the digitalization of the economy, and comprehensive support for domestic entrepreneurship.
The meeting focused on the rational use of water resources and the development of the agricultural sector, where Turkmenistan is prepared to actively engage the EBRD's expertise and investment. Serdar Berdimuhamedov confirmed the country's openness to deepening mutually beneficial cooperation and launching new infrastructure initiatives.
