A Package of Documents Was Signed Between Turkmenistan and the EBRD in Ashgabat


On July 28, Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with Odile Renaud-Basso, President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the talks, the parties discussed cooperation priorities: economic diversification, green energy development, support for small and medium-sized businesses, and the promotion of transport corridors, including the Trans-Caspian route.

Following the meeting, a formal signing ceremony was held for five documents between the ministries and agencies of Turkmenistan and the EBRD:
Strategic Priorities for 2027–2032 — A Memorandum of Understanding between the Central Bank of Turkmenistan and the EBRD, outlining the bank's activities in the country for a five-year period.
Strengthening the Banking Sector — A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) agreement with the Central Bank of Turkmenistan to support export-oriented growth and economic diversification.
Sustainable Energy and Environment — A multilateral memorandum between the EBRD, the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Energy, and the state concerns Turkmengas, Turkmennebit, and Turkmenhimiya.
Transport Modernization — A Memorandum with the Ministry of Railways and Transport and the Ministry of Roads on the development of transit potential and transport corridors.
Green Cities — An agreement between the Ashgabat City Hall and the EBRD on cooperation within the bank's environmental program.
