Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Gave the Galkynysh Group Instructions for Their Performance in the Netherlands
National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty (People's Council), Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with members of the renowned Galkynysh National Equestrian Games Group. The head of the country's highest representative body inquired in detail about the training process, living conditions, and personal plans of the young riders, interviewing each member of the group.
Founded in 2007 on the initiative of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Galkynysh Group has become renowned worldwide for its virtuoso horsemanship and spectacular stunts. Blessing the riders for the upcoming international competition, the National Leader of the Turkmen People expressed confidence that our equestrian masters will demonstrate the highest level of training and honorably represent the flag of the Motherland. It was noted that the group's continued success on the international stage would be a significant contribution to the celebration of Turkmenistan's 35th anniversary of independence. The group members, in turn, assured that they would make every effort to justify the trust placed in them and enhance the glory of the Akhal-Teke horses.
The meeting was held as part of preparations for the high-level Turkmen delegation's participation in the World Equestrian Championships and the International Akhal-Teke Horse Beauty Contest in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chairs the special Organizing State Committee for these prestigious competitions and is personally overseeing the proceedings.
Currently, the Turkmen delegation, led by Deputy Prime Minister Tangryguly Atakhalliyev, is on a working visit to the Dutch town of Cronenberg. Representatives from Turkmenistan inspected the site for the upcoming competitions, coordinating with the organizers on design, placement of national symbols, and logistics.
During the visit, consultations with European experts and horse breeders were held. The foreign specialists emphasized the uniqueness of Turkmen traditions in raising and training racehorses, noting the importance of sharing experiences. Participants in the meetings emphasized that the inclusion of Akhal-Teke horse breeding on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity has raised global public interest in these "heavenly" horses to a new level.
