Serdar Berdimuhamedov Received the Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran

On July 27, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Farzaneh Sadegh Malwajerd, the Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who was visiting Ashgabat.
The guest conveyed greetings from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to the head of state and National Leader of the Turkmen People Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. During the conversation, it was noted that the recent visit of the Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty to Tehran and his talks with Iran's top leadership gave a powerful impetus to bilateral ties.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that relations between Ashgabat and Tehran are based on centuries-old shared historical and cultural values, as well as the principle of good-neighborliness. The countries cooperate effectively internationally, primarily at the UN, and Iran consistently ranks among Turkmenistan's leading trading partners.
The parties identified the fuel and energy sector, transport and communications, construction, agriculture, and business contacts as key areas of cooperation. The Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation remains the primary mechanism for implementing these objectives and identifying new growth opportunities.
