Turkmen Robotics Students Win Another Gold Medal — This Time in Australia
In March, seven teams from the ImdatBot Educational Center competed in the XCEL national qualifying round held in Ashgabat. The participating teams were Ecobotix, DM-Robotics, Line-Storm (Ayhan Orazdurdyev, Kurambay Matsapayev, and Shamuhammet Kuliyev), APEX, SS-Line, Shadow Racers, and Dragon Labs. By the awards ceremony in April, the results were announced: five gold medals and two silver medals, with Shadow Racers and Dragon Labs earning silver.
Among the winners, Kurambay Matsapayev, a member of the Line-Storm team, represented Turkmenistan at the international XCEL Global robotics competition in Australia. He departed on July 4, while the competition took place from July 9 to 14. The Turkmen student claimed first place and won a gold medal. He returned to Ashgabat on July 16 with the championship title.
For ImdatBot, the official partner of educational robotics manufacturer Makeblock, this was not the first international success of the year. In May, the center's students represented Turkmenistan at the Robotek Grand Tournament Astana 2026, which brought together more than 300 participants from 10 countries. Leysan Jumageldiyeva earned a full scholarship to study at the Kazakh-British Technical University, while Tigran Melkumyan and Nuryagdy Bayryyev won the Innovative Technologies category.
A year earlier, in 2025, ImdatBot students also returned with gold and silver medals from the XCEL International Olympiad in Los Angeles.
Founded in Ashgabat in 2019, ImdatBot began its journey with five teams participating in MakeX Spark 2022. Today, the center's consistent achievements reflect its well-established training system based on the STEAM methodology, national qualifying rounds, and participation in international competitions.
