Turkmenistan Has Prepared a National Action Plan on Human Rights for 2026–2030
On July 25, the Interdepartmental Commission for Ensuring the Fulfillment of the Country's International Obligations in the Field of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law met at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The meeting summarized the results of its work for the first half of 2026 and identified strategic guidelines for the future.
The central theme of the meeting was the discussion of the draft of the new National Action Plan on Human Rights for 2026–2030. The document aims to elevate the country's human rights system to a new level by harmonizing national legislation with advanced international standards and strengthening social and legal guarantees for citizens.
The meeting participants also reviewed the practical results of the 2024–2026 Plan for the Implementation of International Humanitarian Law, noting the rapid growth of interagency cooperation.
Speaking at the meeting, Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov emphasized that the humanistic approach established by the President remains a key vector of state policy, with human capital and the protection of citizens' rights and freedoms as the top priority. Ongoing dialogue with UN institutions and international expert forums confirms Turkmenistan's status as an open and responsible partner of the global community.
