A working meeting between representatives of relevant ministries and agencies of Turkmenistan, including the Ministry of Finance and Economy, the Ministry of Healthcare and Medical Industry, and the State Statistics Committee, and technical experts from the World Health Organization, UNICEF, and UN agencies was held in Ashgabat. The main topic of the dialogue was the development of statistical methodology for implementing the Sustainable Development Goals.

This joint initiative, organized with the support of the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator, is part of a set of activities to prepare Turkmenistan's third Voluntary National Review.

During the expert consultations, participants discussed the harmonization of national and international methodologies for recording key indicators of Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3). Particular attention was paid to ensuring the completeness, comparability, and high accuracy of data reflecting the dynamics of population coverage with quality healthcare services, the development of maternal and child health infrastructure, and the human resources of the healthcare system.

The development of unified analytical standards and the systematization of digital data will improve the effectiveness of long-term planning and objectively reflect the country's successes on the international stage.

Following the meeting, the parties outlined a vector for further technical cooperation, reaffirming their mutual commitment to strengthening partnerships for the health and well-being of society.
