Craftsmen and Designers from Turkmenistan Are Participating in the 5th Ethno Festival in Kazan
CULTURE, July 23 | ORIENT. The anniversary 5th International Ethno Festival "Lifestyle – Cultural Code" has opened in Kazan. This major cultural forum, held at the Center for Unique Craftsmanship (CUC), brought together artisans, artists, and fashion designers from across Russia and abroad, including Turkmen artisans.
From July 22 to 26, a large-scale ethnic market of handmade items was held at the festival site, where artisans from Turkmenistan, along with other international participants, presented their unique products. Guests can not only purchase authentic products but also experience ancient craft traditions at special master classes.
The festival program covers several key areas:
Fashion Shows: From July 22 to 24, the runway will showcase collections from over 45 designers from Asia, Africa, and the CIS. Turkmen national motifs and traditional ornaments are seamlessly integrated into the ethnic fashion shows, alongside works by designers from India, Qatar, Morocco, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan.
Business Program: During expert discussions from July 23 to 25, participants will discuss the preservation of folk arts and crafts, the integration of traditional patterns into contemporary design, and the development of creative industries and ethnic brands.
The participation of Turkmen artisans in the Kazan festival underscores the growing interest of the international audience in Turkmenistan's distinctive arts and crafts and textile traditions.
