The Hague and Ashgabat Are Preparing a Business Forum and Protocol for the Akhal-Teke Championship in the Netherlands
DIPLOMACY, July 22 | ORIENT. Preparations for the first Akhal-Teke World Championship abroad, to be held in September 2026 in the province of Limburg, have entered the practical phase in the Netherlands. In The Hague, Turkmen Ambassador Sapar Palvanov held meetings with senior staff of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the protocol service.
According to the Turkmen diplomatic mission, the key topic of the talks with Dutch Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Joost Vlaamand was the inclusion of a large-scale economic and technological agenda in the September event.
Following the Ashgabat briefing announced in early July, the parties began coordinating specific high-level joint events in The Hague:
Turkmen-Dutch Business Forum: A business meeting is planned with the participation of government agencies and leading companies from both countries. The goal is to launch joint projects using advanced Dutch technologies.
Water and Climate: Cooperation in water resource management, the implementation of water-saving systems, and adaptation to climate change was a separate focus of the talks.
Protocol Details: The Ambassador of Turkmenistan discussed in detail the reception of official delegations and logistics with Bob Aal, Head of the Protocol Department of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The series of events held in Limburg and The Hague is expected not only to showcase the athletic prowess and grace of Akhal-Teke horses at the Peelbergen Arena but also to give impetus to the trade, economic, and technological partnership between Ashgabat and Amsterdam.
