Turkmenistan and Georgia expand cooperation in education and science
As part of the State Visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Georgia, Turkmen Minister of Education Jumamyrat Gurbangeldyyev held an official meeting with Georgian Minister of Education Givi Mikanadze. The ministers discussed new opportunities for cooperation and signed a package of agreements that will create new prospects for students and researchers. The main focus of the talks was to strengthen direct cooperation between leading universities and enhance youth policy. The two sides agreed to promote academic mobility for students and faculty members, conduct joint scientific research, organize internships, and implement collaborative educational programs.
The ministers identified medicine, the oil and gas industry, energy, architecture, transport, and digital technologies as key areas of future cooperation. Particular attention was given to advanced fields such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and STEAM education.
The meeting concluded with the signing of six bilateral agreements. In addition to a general memorandum between the two ministries, several leading universities signed long-term partnership agreements.
— The Maya Kuliyeva Turkmen National Conservatory signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Vano Sarajishvili Tbilisi State Conservatoire.
— Magtymguly Turkmen State University signed a cooperation agreement with Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.
— The Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University and the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction established partnerships with the Georgian Technical University.
— The Institute of Engineering, Technical and Transport Communications of Turkmenistan signed a memorandum with the Batumi State Maritime Academy.

The signed documents significantly strengthen the legal framework for bilateral cooperation between the two countries. At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed confidence that the agreements would give strong momentum to joint projects and further expand scientific and educational cooperation.
