Indian startup Skyroot Aerospace has successfully carried out its Aagaman Mission, launching the Vikram-1 launch vehicle. This historic achievement makes India the world's third country, after the United States and China, to master privately operated orbital launches.

The four-stage Vikram-1 rocket lifted off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota and successfully deployed several demonstration satellites into low Earth orbit. The mission confirmed the performance of advanced technologies, including carbon-composite structures and 3D-printed rocket engines. Among the payloads were instruments designed to test robotic manipulators that could eventually be used to remove space debris.

India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally congratulated the young engineering team, whose average age is just 28 years. The rocket's payload consisted entirely of Indian-made components and also included several symbolic items, such as postcards from astronauts, miniature sculptures honoring pioneers of Indian science, and an 18-karat gold miniature rocket.

V. Narayanan, Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), described the achievement as a direct result of government reforms that opened the country's space sector to private companies. The success of Skyroot Aerospace is expected to strengthen India's position in the global commercial market for small satellite launches.
