Rashid Meredov Discussed the Results of U.S. Ambassador Elizabeth Rood's Diplomatic Mission in Ashgabat


On July 18, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met with U.S. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Elizabeth Rood, who is concluding her diplomatic mission in the country.
During the meeting, the parties summarized the results of their joint work and noted the steady positive dynamics in the development of the Turkmen-American dialogue. It was emphasized that the key driver for strengthening bilateral relations in recent years has been the intensification of contacts and reciprocal visits at the highest and most senior levels.
The diplomats discussed the current state of interstate cooperation, focusing on long-term priorities. In the political and diplomatic sphere, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to regular interagency consultations. In the trade and economic sector, projects in the areas of technology exchange, transport, energy, and ecology were identified as promising areas. Particular attention was also paid to expanding educational, cultural, and humanitarian programs.

At the end of the meeting, Rashid Meredov thanked Elizabeth Rood for her personal contribution to deepening the multifaceted partnership between Ashgabat and Washington, wishing her success in her future professional endeavors. In turn, the head of the American diplomatic mission expressed sincere gratitude to the leadership of Turkmenistan for its comprehensive support, constructive assistance, and the creation of favorable working conditions throughout her diplomatic service in the country.
