A Meeting of the Presidium of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Was Held

The meeting of the Presidium of the Khalk Maslakhaty, chaired by National Leader of the Turkmen People Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on July 15, effectively marked the official launch of large-scale preparations for the celebration of the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence and the convening of the highest representative body of government. The upcoming national forum, scheduled for September 23, is intended to summarize the state's development and outline key objectives for the future.
Addressing the meeting participants, the head of the Khalk Maslakhaty linked upcoming political events with the country's long-term modernization plans. The focus of state policy remains on the stability of macroeconomic indicators, attracting investment into new industries and, consequently, job creation, improving public health, and actively developing youth policy. Industrial priorities included deep modernization of the oil and gas, chemical, construction, and textile sectors, as well as the progressive implementation of innovative teaching methods and strengthening food security.
The achievements of domestic horse breeding in the year under the motto "Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses" occupied a special place on the agenda. The Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty proudly noted the international recognition of the Turkmen Akhal-Teke horses. Since the beginning of the year, young riders and the renowned national equestrian group "Galkynyş" have triumphantly represented the country at festivals and championships in Azerbaijan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, the USA, China, the UK, and Tatarstan. As part of the upcoming celebrations, specialized exhibitions and scientific conferences are planned, which will detail the unique history and breeding methods of the Akhal-Teke breed.
Honoring compatriots will be an important focus in the lead-up to the holiday. At the direction of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, a coordinated process will begin to nominate and formalize documents for the awarding of state decorations and honorary titles to citizens who have made outstanding contributions to the development of sovereign Turkmenistan. A special law establishing a new commemorative medal for participants in the festive military parade was recently adopted for this purpose.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov called on the Khalk Maslakhaty (People's Council), members of the Mejlis, the government, and public associations to closely coordinate. In preparation for the forum, explanatory meetings and roundtables will be held in all regions of the country, where citizens will be able to directly present their proposals for further reform and improvement of the state, in order to jointly create the most comfortable living environment for everyone.
