Minsk Held a Meeting Between the Ambassadors of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea


On July 9, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Nazarguly Shagulyev met with newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Minsk, Kim Jeong-ha, at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Belarus. The meeting was held on the initiative of the South Korean side.
The diplomats reviewed current issues of bilateral and multilateral partnership, reaffirming Ashgabat and Seoul's commitment to expanding trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian ties.
During the conversation, Nazarguly Shagulyev briefed his counterpart on key milestones in Turkmenistan's modern development. Particular emphasis was placed on the symbolism of 2026 and the 35th anniversary of independence. Turkmenistan is actively preparing to celebrate this significant historical date, summing up the results of large-scale economic and social reforms. The current year is being held under the slogan "Independent, Neutral Turkmenistan – Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses," reflecting its commitment to national traditions and the dynamics of progress. The Turkmen diplomat emphasized that Ashgabat remains an open and reliable partner for the international community, consistently promoting its peacekeeping initiatives on the global stage.
For his part, Kim Jong-ha expressed gratitude for the informative reception. The head of the South Korean diplomatic mission confirmed Seoul's strong interest in intensifying contacts with Turkmenistan, noting the productive nature of interaction both bilaterally and within authoritative international platforms.
